Precision German Garage is a partnership between the Schreiber and Baker families. We are all Washington home-grown. Some of us have raised our kids here already, and some of us are raising our daughters here still. Opening our own business allows us to serve our customers and our community in the way we want–with person to person relationships, honesty, and high quality work. Driven to treat others right, and be of service to the community, we want to build a company that embodies our beliefs, talents, and experience, that our employees can build their lives around, and that our customers are happy they chose.

We have previously owned two successful Porsche, BMW, Audi, Mini auto shops that we are very proud of. When Kody and Jaime met and became great friends, we all thought it was a perfect pairing for opening a customer-centered shop that focuses on quality and service. Now, we are setting out on this Precision German Garage adventure together.

Our families have been in Washington for generations (some of our kids are 5th gen!). Our connection to this place means we are genuinely committed to acting responsibly toward our shared natural environment in all we do at Precision German Garage, for ourselves and our future generations.

Like you, we adore our cars, obsess over them, and talk to them in the garage when no one is looking.

Jaime Baker

Owner, Master Technician

I began my career as a mechanic by earning my FAA airframe and powerplant mechanic certificates. Sadly, the airlines were not hiring so I put the training I'd received to use at BMW of Bellevue where I achieved BMW master technician status and was promoted to shop foreman.

After 10 years, I opened Eastside Bavarian in Issaquah, WA with my friend Dave Scafidi. We became the premier independent BMW service facility in Western Washington. I sold my interest in the business in 2015 to move to Utah. The shop is still going strong today under the ownership of Dave and his wife Teri.

In Salt Lake City, UT, I became a co-owner of Morris Brothers Motorsports with my longtime friend Jack Morris and his brother Chad Morris. Our shop specialized in vintage Porsche automobiles, but we also serviced and repaired modern Porsche, and BMW brands.

Julie and I missed being near our family, so we settled in Spokane in 2020 where one of our daughters had attended Gonzaga University.  After a short stint at a local European repair shop, I missed the challenges of owning my own business. I am thrilled I have the chance to work with my amazing wife Julie. Owning a small business is a time consuming endeavor and it allows us to spend more time together.

I am a passionate cyclist, love the outdoors, love spending time maintaining our small fleet of vintage cars, reading, and finally, learning Swedish in my limited spare time.

Kody Schreiber

Owner, ASE-Certified Technician

I have been passionate for cars since I was a little kid and nothing has changed since. I actually started turning wrenches at the age of 12, working with my Dad. I purchased my first car at 14, a 1979 VW Rabbit. I instantly had dreams of engine swaps and modifications. From there the love only grew. During high school I made it a goal to eventually own my own shop.

After graduating college with an AAS degree in Auto Technology and Business Management, I spent 10 years at a local European repair shop starting as an apprentice technician before being promoted to the shop foreman. During this time I became ASE, Bosch, and Air Conditioning Society certified, as well as over the years attended many technical training seminars.

This experience has prepared me to achieve my goal of becoming an entrepreneur by the time I turned 30 and I am right on target!

My other passion is my family. I was born and raised here in Spokane and am happy that my two girls are getting to have the same experience. We love spending time outdoors, especially camping. I am so proud to have my wife along with me on this business journey. You will get to know her, she is amazing.

Kayla Schreiber

Owner, Finance Manager

I worked in the front end operations at a local European repair shop while I was attending college. I genuinely love getting to know people and helping them do the things they love, which is why I chose to pursue my BA in Therapeutic Recreation. After graduating from Eastern Washington University, I began my career working in healthcare management for a little over three years. During that time we were blessed with our miracle baby who proudly embraces her Cerebral Palsy. I decided to step down from management and landed my dream job as a on-call Recreational Therapist at a local rehab hospital.

Four years and two kids later, my husband Kody and I have built an amazingly strong family and are ready for our new adventure in life. I’ve been blessed with being the wife of a technician, and over the years have learned a tremendous amount of automobile knowledge. I am proud to support my husband's dream of opening up an auto repair shop.

When I am not here at the shop with my husband, I am spending time with our two wonderful girls, Remi Jo and Graci. Family and faith are everything to me. I love doing anything outdoors, camping, swimming, hiking you name it! Not to mention taking my 1990 Cabriolet out on a warm summer day!

Julie Hopkins- Baker

Owner, Marketing & HR

I have been involved with cars and a shop of one sort or another for the last 15 years with my husband Jaime. It's a fun departure from my career as a Wildlife and Marine Biologist. I've worked with cougars, grizzly bears, and bats in the North Cascades of Washington State, sailed on boats in the middle of the Pacific Ocean monitoring whales and dolphins, worked with NOAA EIS public scoping for deep sea tuna in the Pacific Island Territories, so not much scares me. Except maybe people who tailgate while on their cell phones! I have made the best of my BS degree from Washington State University, where my father graduated and my daughter went as well. Go Cougs!

You can't help pick up quite a bit of car knowledge being married to a shop owner. I know my way around an engine! Plus, I am passionate about cars, and have a small collection of my own (1970 BMW 2002, 2000 Porsche 911, 2014 Audi Q5).

In our spare time, Jaime and I love getting our vintage European cars out for cross country and weekend road trips. I love bicycling, watercolor painting, hiking, photography, cross-country skiing, and travel. I am always ready for the next adventure.

When he is not in the Garage, he and Kelly love boating on Pend Oreille, or he’s out drag racing, fishing, hunting, or riding the ATVs. Definitely an outdoors guy!
